Infinity Ward's Robert Bowling said via Twitter that users should continue reporting players who violate the rules of the game until a forthcoming patch prevents them from exploiting cheats and glitches.
"Any attempt to cheat, hack or glitch in [Modern Warfare 3] will not be tolerated. 1600+ bans issued. Updates in works. Please [continue] to report offenders," he wrote.
Last week, Electronic Arts confirmed that it has banned "hundreds" of Battlefield 3 players for employing similar tactics.
