A major addition is a currency offered on top of the existing experience system called CP - or COD points - which will govern the game's unlock systems, according to 1Up.
The currency is earned during matches to purchase perks, firearms and attachments instead of unlocking them through standard level progression, providing choice in what the player wants to unlock first.
A new separate multiplayer mode called Wager Match will allow users to gamble their earned CP. The top three players in each match will take everyone else's money, which is designed to strip the combat down to its basics. You can watch a trailer for the Wager Match mode here.
A separate mode called Combat Training aims to train users before they go online and face human competition, and will be open to multiple players and have its own unlock system.
The Theater mode teased in a recent trailer will be a Halo 3-style service, allowing films, screenshots and custom game settings to be stored online and searched by other players.
Perks will change the way a player looks, so choosing Scavenger will give character models a flak jacket with pouches, while Ghost will dress players in a ghillie suit.
An emblem editor will provide three layers of custom graphics to create custom decals, and can be applied to weapon camouflage patterns and the red dot sight.
Items will be stripped into three types: lethal items such as grenades, tactical equipment such as flashbangs, and equipment such as gun turrets or motion sensors.
Finally, new weapons shown include a gatling gun, a napalm strike, a remote control bomb, an off-site mortar team and a movable SAM turret that can target aircraft, according to Joystiq.
